About My Consulting Approach
I connect with my clients through enlisting my personal strengths:
-
Connectedness,
-
Deep listening,
-
Flexibility
-
Adopting a non-judgmental stance in order to really see the client.
I love connecting disparate ideas to add clarity, or help my client clarify their own thinking and build out ideas collaboratively. Magic! I love seeing the lightbulbs illuminate in people's faces when they know we've hit upon some juicy breakthrough thinking. Moments when you tap into another level of consciousness, collectively, are the absolute sweetest things.

About My Background

I grew up in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA, known as the city of bridges (hence my home page photo). My undergrad degree is from Chatham University in Pittsburgh. I then earned an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. My first career was in investment banking as a public finance specialist. Tumultuous market changes were the catalyst for me to put one shaky foot onto a new bridge where I soon discovered far more fulfilling work on the other side -- in the land of learning and development.
About My Coaching

I am an Intercultural Development Inventory (IDI) Qualified Administrator - and can help you:
-
Understand your cultural worldview,
-
See where this may or may not be having the impact you want, and
-
Guide you toward increasing your capacity to relate to people culturally different from yourself. I'm on this journey too. Grateful for every opportunity to work and live outside the US as it reflected my home culture back to me in an important new light.
As an executive coach, I work with a fundamental premise that real, lasting change requires personal transformation. This is markedly different from traditional coaching that is solely goal oriented.
The conditions in our lives out picture, in part, the mental operating system that we formed so long ago that we're usually not conscious of the way it influences us. This mental conditioning functions like a VR headset - filtering all of our experiences of the outside world through the lens of our accepted beliefs about ourselves:
-
Who we think we are
-
What we think we are capable of
-
What we think we deserve
-
Who other people are in relation to us, etc.
Traditional goal-oriented coaching can fail if it doesn't go deep enough to disrupt unhelpful, outgrown belief systems. Really effective coaching has to bring to conscious awareness the inner unconscious barriers that have become embedded in our thinking because so often they block our full potential. Uncovering these barriers is not something we can do alone. It requires a mirror -- a trusted coach with deep listening skills-- and an accurate roadmap that can guide clients through this life-changing terrain.
I believe whole heartedly that this transformative approach works because I have experienced it myself.
